Facebook experimenting labeling posts from popular Facebook pages

It seems that Facebook has recently tweeted on their Facebook page stating that they are currently testing a feature that labels Facebook pages in order to provide more context about the page. Currently, there are labels such as ‘public official’, ‘fan page’ as well as ‘satire page’ at the time of this writing with more to come in the future.

With that being said, it could potentially reduce user confusion as they can easily tell whether the Facebook page is posting satire content or a more serious form of content. As of now, the feature is only available in the US for now and there is no news on when it will be available in other regions.

With all that said, what are your thoughts on Facebook testing out a page labelling system to help reduce user confusion? Let us know on our Facebook page, and for more updates like this, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
