The biggest social network in the world has just opened their office here in Malaysia. With 18 million Malaysians utilized the social network every month, Facebook can’t truly ignore the scope of engagement of local users. The new office joins local offices in countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines.
Of course before you get excited too much, the office is more of a business office to facilitate marketing purposes. The office now allows local businesses to have local contact for any questions in regards to marketing their brands on Facebook.
Even so, it is great to see a big company like Facebook acknowledging the userbase here in Malaysia. Who knows – one day we might see Mark Zuckerberg visiting the Malaysian office!
