Meta-owned social media platform Facebook reached a milestone recently after it recorded 2 billion daily active users (DAU) for the very first time. The matter was revealed by Meta in its fourth-quarter earnings report.

However, Facebook is not actually the first Meta-owned platform to reach the milestone. That honour goes to WhatsApp which had even recently surpassed 2 billion DAUs.

As reported by Engadget, Meta revealed that Facebook users increased by 16 million last quarter to reach 2 billion DAUs. Despite the increase in users, Meta’s revenue has shrunk over the last year with the company expected to further cut on projects.
