Over the years, Facebook has become a platform where businesses try to sell their products with various sponsored posts. Good thing that the company hasn't forgotten its roots, as it has announced a new Friends Tab coming to the platform soon.

For now, Facebook will launch this new feature in the US and Canada first. According to the company, the Friends Tab will show all of your friends' stories, reels, posts, birthdays and friend requests. It will be accessible on the home feed and the bookmarks section of the app. Users can pin the Friends Tab in the settings too via the Tab Bar and then Friends.

Facebook assures that the Friends Tab will not show any recommended content there. This is something that we think is needed given the number of unrelated posts that most of the users aren't interested in. For example, the aforementioned sponsored posts have invaded our home feeds, memes, click-bait posts, and many others.

Facebook did not give a timeline of when the Friends Tab feature will launch in the West first nor for the rest of the world, but rest assured that we will be getting it some time this year. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
