Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has announced that Malaysia will launch Guidelines for Responsible AI Communication, which will provide a critical framework to support professionals across media, public relations and digital content creation. He added that the guidelines will complement the National AI Roadmap and uphold ethical, transparent and trustworthy communication practices.
Communications Minister stressed that technology must serve humanity and not replace it
Fahmi was quoted by Bernama as saying that while we live in an age where communication is borderless and increasingly shaped by AI, human ethics and judgment must still lead. The Communications Minister gave a keynote address at the Kuala Lumpur International PR Conference (KLIP 7) via video message yesterday as he is currently leading the Malaysian delegation to the World Summit on the Information Society+20 High-Level Event (WSIS+20) in Geneva, Switzerland.
Fahmi further asserted that technology must serve humanity and not replace it. Accordingly, he urged communication professionals to lead with purpose, guided by inclusive and transparent principles.
