Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has issued a warning to telco companies in Malaysia to not charge customers extra for 5G access. He added that the government would consider taking action against them should this happen.

According to Bernama, Fahmi said that he has made it clear to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) that telco companies must ensure there are no additional charges for using the 5G network. He further reminded telco companies that the entire infrastructure cost, up to the point of signing the share subscription agreement (SSA) was funded by the Malaysian public’s money.
