FarmVille will shut down on Facebook soon after 11 years

That's right, one of the oldest and "legendary" games during the early days of Facebook, FarmVille, will be closing on 31 December 2020. The official announcement was made by Zynga on their website just not too long ago, due to the lack of Flash Player support by Adobe and Facebook in the future.

On that note, Zynga also announced that the in-app game item purchases will only be available until 17 November which will also turn off the payment system. In other words, refunds will not be accepted after that date and the company recommends the players to spend the remaining credits while they can. Despite that, there are still some upcoming in-game activities for the players to play before the game shuts down for good.

Although it's nostalgic and sad to see the game go away, it was only a matter of time. However, Zynga has also made FarmVille 2: Tropic Escape and FarmVille 2: Country Escape so it's not the end. There's also an upcoming FarmVille 3 for the mobile platform. You can read more of the FAQs on the closure right here
