It’s been an interesting week for music and AI. Previously, we mentioned how TextToSamples can help you produce new music. Today, Meta released a new AI tool that lets you do the same with AudioCraft.
According to Meta, AudioCraft is a combination of three models. These models are AudioGen, EnCodec and MusicGen. This AI tool works for music, sound, compression and generation. In case you didn’t know, MusicGen is trained using company-owned and specifically licensed music.
Interestingly, artists and experts in the industry are concerned with copyright violations. That’s because the machine learning software could recognise and replicate their music (in the form of data) from the web. As of now, it remains interesting to see how this can affect music in the future.
