Final Fantasy 7 Remake install size could be a whopping 100GB, physical copy will have two Blu-ray discs

As the gaming industry progresses, we've seen the install size for games grow larger and larger. In fact, games like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare already have crazy storage requirements of up to 175GB. Now, a new leak suggests that the Final Fantasy Remake could require you to have at least 100GB of storage space on your Sony PS4 console.

The folks at DualShockers first found cover images for the physical copy of the game in Korea in a Reddit thread. From the images, the storage requirements portion indicates that the game will come in two Blu-ray discs. Since a Blu-ray disc can store up to 50GB of data, this could mean that the game's install size can go up to 100GB or it could be less than that.

Keep in mind that Square Enix has decided to split Final Fantasy 7 Remake into multiple parts. By the time we get all the parts, the game could easily require 3 to 5 times more in storage space. Better get that external drive for your PS4 ready, if you haven't already.

The images in the Reddit thread has since been deleted, possibly because the thread starter received a takedown notice from Square Enix. If that is the case, this piece of news could very well be true. In any case, the game is expected to launch on 10 April 2020 so we'll get confirmation soon.

So, is your Sony PS4 ready for Final Fantasy 7 Remake? Would large install sizes prevent you from buying a particular game? Please share your thoughts with us on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
