Recently, Mozilla announced the AI Controls feature, which lets users turn off AI features. So, what should you know about it?
You can turn it off whenever you want
For your information, you can turn off all built-in AI features or enable only the features you need. When turned off, Firefox will no longer receive recommendations or reminders of AI features that can be used.
Moreover, once the settings are made, they will be saved to the profile, and they do not need to be set again when Firefox is installed on a new device. The AI features currently offered by Firefox include AI translation to read web pages in the language of your choice.
Additionally, that includes a built-in chatbot that supports Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and Le Chat Mistral. Also included is Firefox automatically grouping open tabs by content and alt text directly in PDFs. The AI Controls feature that controls these AI features can be used in Firefox 148, which will be released on February 24.
