Alleged images of the unreleased 35W dual USB-C ports adapter by Apple have been making its rounds across the internet recently. Shared by ChargerLAB yesterday, the images show a compact design charger with side-by-side USB-C ports.

Furthermore, it looks exactly like the current iPhone and iPad 20W chargers sold by Apple, including the use of foldable prongs. There is also a familiar circular indent for extra grip.

Previously, we reported how Apple is potentially planning to release a new iPhone power adapter based on a support document briefly published on its official website. According to the document, the accessory also support USB-C Power Delivery technology as per below:

  • Input: 100–240V /1.0A
  • (USB PD) Output 1 or 2: 5VDC/3A or 9VDC/3A or 15VDC/2.33A or 20VDC/1.75A

According to reliable tipster on everything Apple, Ming-Chi Kuo, the adapter would utilise gallium nitride (GaN). The technology has been used by many manufacturers to create smaller, lighter and more power efficient chargers.

In fact, some third-party accessory manufacturers have even release GaN chargers of up to 140W. These include Anker and Belkin with their USB-C power adapter for Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro.

However, do take these information with a grain of salt as it’s still only rumours. Let’s wait for it to be officially announced by Apple first okay!
