If you are a new Maybank user, you ought to quickly activate Secure2u as soon as possible. According to Maybank's latest statement, all first-time Secure2u activations and activation on new devices will require activation through a Maybank ATM.
In line with Bank Negara Malaysia’s updated security measures, the activation will begin on 31 October 2023 onwards. To activate Secure2u at a Maybank ATM, you simply have to simply make your way to one and insert your card, then key in the card PIN. After that, select 'Secure2u Activation' on the main menu and follow the instructions to complete your activation.
Do keep in mind that after activating successfully, there will be a 12-hour period before you can use Secure2u to approve transactions. Honestly, it's just way easier to handle this on your MAE app as it's more convenient. But because this is to help prevent unauthorised theft and scams, there will be no choice but to do this.
To recap, Secure2u is a one-tap approval method by Maybank as a safer and quicker way to approve all transactions. Your MAE app will also generate a 6-digit TAC number instead of your SMSes, as the latter is already compromised by scammers.
