Lately, plenty of smartwatches have been launched. So you must be thinking, "What about smartbands"? Well, we have one of the latest models from Fitbit, which is the Fitbit Luxe. If you are looking for the latest smartband for yourself or a loved one, keep reading below, and the Fitbit Luxe could be your next smartband.
The Fitbit Luxe weighs 16 grams (excluding straps) and comes in Lunar White, Black Graphite, Core Orchid, and Classic Peony colours. There is also a limited edition Soft Gold Stainless Steel gorjana Parker Link Bracelet, which suits the ladies. The default set comes with a silicone strap, stainless steel body, metal buckle, and tang. As for the design, it is buttonless and has only a touchscreen display. According to Fitbit, this is the thinnest touchscreen fitness tracker to date.

The smartband fits my wrist well

2 different band sizes, small (left) & large (size)
I like how light it is and how well it fits my wrist, so I wear it for every occasion, including my workout sessions and work. Personally, it looks like a bracelet to me, and it has a simple yet premium design. There is also an additional strap in the box for you to swap to if the default one doesn't fit you well. Of course, if you wish to change the straps to match your daily outfit, then you may pay a visit to their official website to check them out. There are a variety of Fitbit Luxe straps you can choose from leather to woven bands.
The Fitbit Luxe comes with stress management tools, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, active zone minutes, sleep tracking, sleep score, and other health metrics. You can also check your workout results on a smartphone if you think the smartband's display is too small for you or you want to refer to the previous chart.
Speaking of health metrics, you can also get extra details through a smartphone. This includes your breathing rate, heart rate variability, skin temperature, oxygen saturation (SpO2), and resting heart rate. But to use the health metrics features mentioned, you have to be a premium member. The smartband comes with a nice bonus of 6 months premium trial worth RM 263.94, and you could maintain your membership by paying every month or year.
Performance-wise, the Fitbit Luxe works pretty well. But the only thing that I felt was inconvenient was the workout modes in the smartband. Although there are 20+ sport modes, you can only use 6 of them at a time, which means I have to go through the Fitbit app to add or remove them. I wear it when I go jogging, and the workout results would appear on the smartband. Of course, you may go through the app to check the workout history as well.
For connectivity, the smartband will automatically connect to the smartphone that I paired it with, and notifications will then show on the smartband. It will alert you when there is an incoming phone call, and you can answer them with the smartphone nearby. You can also set alarms to alert you by vibrating or snoozing them.

Pick up or decline a call, as well as check your notification on the smartband

According to Fitbit, the smartband can last up to 5 days. So I tested it out and found that it can last around 6 days. It took one and a half hours to fully charge the smartband and can last up to a week, even with the Always-On display and GPS enabled when running outdoors. Fun fact, I receive e-mails from Fitbit to charge the device, which is quite cool. I also get weekly progress reports.
Overall, this smartband gave me a premium experience. Additionally, it's light to wear around no matter to a workout or as my daily wear. It works pretty well under the sun and is user-friendly too. The only thing I dislike about it is the need to add or remove sport modes via smartphone.

A friendly reminder from Fitbit
As for the price tag, the Fitbit Luxe comes with a price tag of RM648 along with six months of Fitbit Premium Trial that cost RM 263.94. If you are on a tight budget, you can consider the Xiaomi Band 6, Huawei Band 6, or Huawei Band 4e instead.
