Flash Plus 2 revealed with high security system, Flash Charging and more starting at $160

Today, Flash Global (formerly known as Alcatel, they're now an independent brand) has presented online their latest smartphone - the full metal Flash Plus 2 as the successor the Alcatel Flash Plus. The device will have two variants based on their memory and it will make a debut in Malaysia on 24 May 2016 with a price tag of $160 (around RM642) for the 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM version, while the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM will cost $190 (around RM763). Below are the official specifications:

  • 16GB / 32GB storage (expandable memory up to 128GB)

  • 13MP rear camera (RealTone flash LED) + 5MP front camera (Color Rendering Index LED flash)
  • Fingerprint sensor, Pro HiFi audio system, One Finger One App feature, Dual SIM Dual 4G Triple Card Slot, Turbo Download
  • Supports 4G, 3G, WLAN connectivity
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow
  • 3000mAh battery

Flash Plus 2 also offers a tonne of features, which we will share briefly. For starters, its Flash Charging can reach 50% in just 30 minutes. And it supports Dual SIM Dual 4G; which means both SIM cards can be selected as data SIM, and facilitates three independent card slots, so you don’t have to sacrifice a secondary SIM or an SD card.

One Finger One App feature

Fingerprint sensor can sense the user's fingerprint in any direction under 0.5 seconds, and with a Private Folder pre-installed that requires your fingerprint (could need a different one). There's also this One Finger One App feature lets you assign different fingers to open different apps.

Flash Mix feature

Next, the HiFi audio system has a 32-bit advanced audio headphone DAC (AKM4375), one advanced IRD digital filter which relays audio signals in much richer details. And you can be your own DJ with the MIX creation feature too.

In the camera section, Flash Plus 2 uses a mixed autofocus solution of contrast and PDAF auto focus; this allows the device to lock on the object and capture it quickly within 0.1 seconds. What's more, Beautify Mode now works for video recording which can go up to 60fps.

Lastly, there's a Kids Mode feature. This one is for the parents who needs help on getting their babies attention by generating different animal sounds.
