The government today announced the provision of free tolls for two days in conjunction with Deepavali Day 2024, namely on 29 and 30 October 2024. Free tolls will be provided on all highways starting at 12.01 midnight, 29 October 2024 (Tuesday), until 11.59 night, October 30 (Wednesday).
As usual, highway users will still have to go through the toll bar and touch the card or via SmartTAG or RFID, but no charge will be applied. This toll exemption is given to all Class 1 vehicles only and is not subject to toll plazas at national borders.

The government said it would bear the cost of RM38 million for the two-day free toll offering, and compensation would be paid to all the toll concession companies involved. We have yet to confirm other details on the news. Hopefully, everything will be sorted out soon.
