Last week, we saw the news about the next-generation iPhone 15 Pro lineup switching to solid-state buttons rather than using physical ones. It basically means replacing the physical buttons with touch surfaces for the power and volume controls. Now, it looks like future flagship Android devices will follow the same plan too.

The information comes from the same person who gave us the iPhone news. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that Android smartphone manufacturers will likely adopt the design for flagship products. It's said that China-based companies like Xiaomi and OPPO are more likely to follow Apple sooner than everyone else, or they could even come out with their own first. After that, Samsung and Google are also expected to follow the trend.

Switching to the solid-state buttons not only avoids the issues of physical buttons getting worn out over time, but it could also help to make the device look much sleeker. Furthermore, since smartphone manufacturers intend to make portless devices, this technology could help pave the way as well.
