Last Friday, Samsung Malaysia announced its commitment to reimagine foldable experiences for the Malaysian market. To achieve this, the company is organizing top local organizations and young talent from universities to unlock new possibilities on the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip on their foldable UI/UX.

The first partners in the initiative - AmBank, Family Mart, Maxis, Pay4U and ZUS Coffee, have leveraged Samsung and Android platform capabilities to enrich user experiences on their local apps. During the recent partner sharing session - Reimagining Foldables for Malaysians - they showcased their app optimisation through the screen's flexibility usage, expansion and multi-angle fold usages.

According to Samsung Malaysia, the company will have more partners coming on board for the foldable UI/UX experience. This includes Gigi Coffee, Golden Screen Cinemas, TGV Cinemas, and Zapp. Additionally, Samsung aims to collaborate with local universities on a hackathon, where students will pitch foldable app ideas. This is in line with its ESG mission to empower young Malaysian talents and incentivise them to make waves in the tech space.

Head of Product Marketing, Mobile eXperience, Samsung Malaysia, told the media that Samsung is passionate about making mobile innovation relevant to consumers. He said in collaborating with homegrown brands to create unique, local Galaxy Z experiences on their apps, the company wants to invite more local organizations to be part of this industry to deliver better experiences to their customers.
