GSC is introducing GoGoCinema that allows you to choose what, where and when you want to watch movies

Just recently at the CineEurope2019, Golden Screen Cinema (GSC) Malaysia has announced a new partnership with GDC Technology Limited and together, they are introducing the world's first Cinema-on Demand platform coming to Malaysia soon - GoGoCinema.

So...what is GGC (we are just gonna use this term now) and what does it do? Well, that's why we are here to explain. A GGC user can use the same name app or website to search for a movie in a huge online library, after selecting the chosen movie, the user then can choose a theatre, date and time that suits his or her preference from the options given. From there, they have the option of choosing between either:

  • A crowdsourced public screening, where other movie fans can join in the screening created. For this screening to go ahead, a minimum number of tickets have to be booked by a certain cut-off time.
  • Or, a private screening option where the entire movie hall is booked exclusively for a private screening, making it an ideal choice for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, office parties, etc.

According to GSC, the GGC services will be launched at selected premium flagship sites around Malaysia by the end of 2019. Sounds like not every area will get it but we shall see whether if it's successful. If so, then GGC services will eventually be expanded to other locations.
