Today, Golden Screen Cinemas Malaysia has just unveiled the first VAR BOX virtual gaming experience at its brand-new GSC EkoCheras cinema. Although there's no official ticket price and availability just yet, the media got to have the first-hand experience and this is what you have to know about this new VR experience.
A project that was announced back in June between GSC and VAR LIVE, this VAR BOX aims to provide a new avenue for customers to have fun and indulge themselves in a variety of VR games while waiting for the movies. One of the games includes Double Tap (an obvious reference to Zombieland's sequel title), which is an interactive first-person shooter game with leaderboards and online multiplayer features. From there, they can choose 6 different mini-game modes. Game credits can be purchased at the e-kiosk there but as mentioned, the ticket price is still not official yet.

The GSC VAR BOXes will be available at selected locations only. Besides EkoCheras, the new VR gaming experience will be available at GSC Melawati Mall and GSD SetiaCity Mall first. After that, 8 more locations will also implement it such as GSD MyTOWN, GSD 1 Utama, GSD Southkey JB and GSD Sunway Big Box in Johor Bahru, GSD Gurney Plaza in Penang, and GSC Suria Sabah.
