It's not unusual for developers to take inspiration from other games and that could be what Ubisoft is doing. The company unveiled Assassin's Creed (AC) Valhalla at the end of April 2020 but it's only now that we have some juicy info. A lengthy 30-minute video was found on YouTube recently, revealing actual gameplay for the game.

Right from the get-go, you can feel that The Witcher 3 vibe from the gameplay. Ubisoft seems to be drawing inspiration from CDPR's highly successful open-world RPG and you can see it throughout the gameplay footage. Conversations with NPCs also look similar to the style used in The Witcher 3 and there are even wolves too (darn things...)

Of course, that doesn't mean Ubisoft is copying The Witcher 3. There are plenty of mechanics that are staples in AC. The spartan kick is back, along with the eagle vision and naval combat. Eivor, the main character for AC Valhalla, can also dual-wield. Moreover, the chaotic mass battles first introduced in AC Odyssey makes a come back as well.

Since Ubisoft Forward is set to be held on 12 July 2020, it's not surprising to see footage of the game made available. Hopefully, Ubisoft will reveal more during the online event next week.
