When Gemini AI launched, some users probably wondered if it could replace Google Assistant. This was confirmed during Google I/O 2024 when the Gemini Utilities extension was revealed. Now, Google has started to roll out the extension to Android devices.
According to the support page, Google will gradually release the Gemini Utilities extension to Android users. Just wait for the Google Gemini update to be released to the Play Store. Currently, the extension only works for prompts in English, but expect support for other languages to be added later.

Google also listed a few things you can do with the Utilities extension. For example, you can set and manage alarms or timers. You can also toggle features like Bluetooth or the Flashlight on and off, check your battery level, take screenshots, or control media playback. Refer to the support page for more details.
The Utilities extension doesn't cover Google apps like Google Maps yet. However, it should be handy for people who regularly use the listed functionalities. What do you think? Please share your thoughts in the comments on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
