Ever needed to make a phone call so urgently that you couldn't stand wasting time unlocking your phone? Well, it seems Google has considered that scenario and is doing something about it. The Gemini app will soon add a new feature that lets you use the phone without unlocking.

According to Android Authority, Google is rolling out a new feature for Gemini that lets you make phone calls or send text messages without unlocking your phone. This feature will be added to the Google app's upcoming version 15.48 update, which is currently in beta testing. Currently, the update isn't available to Malaysians, but we expect it to roll out here soon.

To enable the feature, open the Gemini app, go to Settings and select "Gemini on lock screen". Next, enable the "Use Gemini without unlocking" and "Make calls and send messages without unlocking" options. Also, the "Phone" and "Messages" Gemini extensions must be enabled.

Sounds like a handy feature, but is the convenience worth risking your phone's security? What if someone misuses it while you're away from your phone? Share your thoughts in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
