According to Setel, Gentari is now introducing an idle fee at all their chargers nationwide, except in hotels and resort areas. That said, what should you know about it?
This charge will replace the “Overstay Fee”
For your information, this applies to electric cars that charge beyond 100%; a charge of RM 0.40/minute will be imposed after 15 minutes of charging. With this, if the car has been fully charged, the driver will need to move the vehicle to avoid a pile-up of idling charges that will be imposed.

Moreover, this idling charge will replace the 'Overstay Fee', which was previously imposed after 4 hours of AC charging, or 1 hour after DC charging. This idling charge is not new, with other charging providers, including Chargesini and TIME Charge 'n Go, also having similar policies.
Additionally, this policy is expected to encourage EV owners to move their vehicles as soon as they are fully charged, but it is still ineffective if there are those who do not mind idling charges.
