Go-Jek has announced that it is now fully available in Singapore as part of their 500 million USD investment to expand their services across South-east Asia which includes countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and Philipines up next.

That being said, as of now there were no plans by Go-Jek to expand their services to Malaysia. However, I personally feel that the expansion of the service to our country could be a possibility due to the fact that Budget 2019 clearly stated by the Minister of Finance, Lim Guan Eng, that cars below 1500cc, as well as motorcycles under 125cc, will be eligible for petrol subsidies. Since Go-Jek is a service that focuses more on motorcycles instead of 4-wheeled vehicles, it will benefit greatly from the subsidies mentioned.

Furthermore, the service will also be more convenient in urban areas where traffic congestion is a big issue as the motorcycles could easily cut through traffic to their destination. Urban areas will not be the only ones that will benefit from this service as rural areas will also be able to benefit from the convenience as well.

Not only will the rides be cheaper on motorcycles, but it will also be as fast, if not even faster than the current implementation of using cars. With Grab being the potential direct competitor to Go-Jek, it will be interesting to see what Go-Jek will do to be more appealing to their customers.
