Fresh from revealing the success of the “AI untuk Rakyat” initiative, Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo today announced that 2 other programmes will be introduced to equip Malaysians with in-depth knowledge and understanding of digital technology. The 2 programmes are “Data untuk Rakyat” and “Cyber Security untuk Rakyat”.
According to Bernama, Gobind said that the success of “AI untuk Rakyat” showed that Malaysians are interested in technology and what is necessary for them to collectively use technology to improve their lives. Accordingly, the 2 new modules were proposed to ensure that every segment of society understands more deeply what data, AI, cyber security, and other technologies are all about so they are ready for future challenges in using these technologies.
Furthermore, the Digital Minister added that his Ministry is currently focusing on creating a digitalisation platform that is accessible, secure, and of high quality at all levels of government services. The Digital Ministry is also in the process of drafting a law that will enable data sharing and hopes to present the bill in Parliament by the end of this year.
