Today, Golden Screen Cinemas has officially launched another 4DX cinema hall. This would be the company's third one at GSC IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, following the other two that are currently playing in GSC Paradigm JB and GSC 1Utama, with the latter recently launched in December 2018.

Similar to the 4D Shrek Movie in Universal Studios, Singapore, the 4DX technology offers a new cinema experience with special motion effects such as wind, fog, rain, moving seats, lightning, snow, buddles and even scents. It was developed in South Kore by CJ 4DPLEX and a 4DX hall can seat 112 movie-goers at the same time.

“As our partnership continues to expand, we are thrilled to share a new level of immersion and storytelling to Malaysian movie-goers. Our goal has always been to provide a genuine enhancement in movie-going, and we look forward to Golden Screen Cinema’s audiences experiencing the sensations of 4DX.” said JongRyul Kim (left), CEO of CJ 4DPLEX standing with Koh Mei Lee (right), Chief Executive Officer of GSC

In addition to that, there are plans to roll out more 4DX theatres this year, which will be available at GSC Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru, as well as introducing another potential viewing experience called the ScreenX, which offers a 270-degrees panoramic view and that's intriguing. According to the presentation, ScreenX is expected to arrive at the end of the year.
