While GooPhone is better known for making cheap clones of other smartphones and tablets, they have recently come up with surprise in the form of the World's first tri-SIM smartphone. Barely a week after MediaTek made their first announcement on their triple-SIM android platform, and GooPhone has already come out with a smartphone using this technology. The smartphone in question is called the GooPhone X1+ and has the following tech specs:

  • 1.2GHz MediaTek MT6572 Dual-Core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4GB storage + up to 32GB microSD
  • 5-inch display (854 x 480 pixel resolution)
  • 5MP rear camera + 2MP front camera
  • 2100 mAh battery
  • Supports 2G GSM (850/900/1800/1900) + 3G WCDMA (850/2100MHz) + WiFi + Bluetooth + triple-SIM
  • Android 4.1
  • Grey and White

The specs look quite midrange and should offer reasonable performance. They should be enough to make the X1+ an interestingly tempting smartphone for those who think dual-SIM just isn't enough. The smartphone will be sold at $149.99 (RM489) but there is no news on actual availability just yet. However, we expect the GooPhone X1+ to be ready for purchase very soon, so keep an eye out on your local seller or some of the more exotic phone sellers in our sister site of Mobile Mega Mall.
