At the Google Cloud Next 2026, the company discussed how it has evolved its generative AI platform over the past year. The trend for this year is agentic AI, a concept that Google has embraced for Gemini Enterprise. Let's take a look at what this "Agentic Enterprise" platform can do.
Agentic Gemini Enterprise
According to Google, Gemini Enterprise is now an "end-to-end system for the Agentic Era" that will let businesses build, use, deploy, and manage agents. It provides you with access to frontier AI models, an intuitive UI, and a secure development framework. With Gemini Enterprise, businesses can now deploy AI agents at scale.
Google also detailed several new innovations at Next 26. These include:
- Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform - An evolution of Vertex AI and Google's new enterprise developer platform.
- Expanded Gemini Enterprise app - An app to find, build, share, and run AI agents in a secure environment. Also includes features such as Agent Designer to build agents, Skills to create shortcuts for repetitive tasks, and Canvas to create and edit files without switching apps.
- AI Infrastructure - New eighth-generation TPUs are now deployed. Using TPU 8t for accelerated training and TPU 8i for cost-effective, near-zero latency inference. Additionally, it uses Managed Lustre to deliver 10 TB/second throughput and Virgo Networking for high performance at massive scale.
- Agentic Data Cloud - A new, AI-native architecture that allows data to be utilised at the speed and scale required by agentic AI. It can also make use of the Knowledge Catalogue, Data Agent Kit, and the cross-cloud Lakehouse.
- Agentic Defence - Powered by a cybersecurity platform using Google's Threat Intelligence and Security Operations. Wiz's Cloud and AI Security Platform is also used to detect, prevent, and respond to threats. Finally, Wiz's AI Application Protection Platform (AI-APP) provide autonomous protection across multicloud, hybrid, and AI environments.
- Agentic Taskforce - Provides new innovations like Customer Experience solution across Gemini Enterprise, plus new capabilities like Workspace Intelligence in Google Workspace.
The above is a part of the announcements made at this week's Google Cloud Next 2026. At the event, the company also listed other innovations and improvements to Google's Cloud AI infrastructure, data security, and more.
