AI is certainly a topic that's been almost talked to death this year and we don't see the end of it. Anyway, Google just released a new Gemini app on the Google Play Store and it's free to download and use.
When installing the Google Gemini app, the system will ask you to switch from Google Assistant to Google Gemini and from there on, it's very straightforward to explore the user interface. According to sources, the app also supports the BM language but it's not 100% accurate, as it would have some Indonesian slang in it.
That said, Google confirmed that Bahasa Malaysia is not 100% supported yet in Gemini. This is perhaps due to the language training model still learning and BM is not as widespread as other languages. On that note, we also tried asking Gemini to speak other dialects in Malaysia. It seems to understand Hokkien and Foo Chow but doesn't reply in Cantonese (Mandarin words came out instead).
Anyway, if you are keen on using AI on your phone, Google Gemini seems quite good to use as you can also use voice or take a picture to ask the AI some questions. There is a Gemini AI app on the Apple App Store but we don't think it's the same. You can also check out the web version of Google Gemini right here.
