Tired of traditional storybooks for children? Most people won't ever think of this, but some may want to create their own stories. If that's you, this piece of news could be interesting for you. Yesterday, Google announced a new generative feature for Gemini AI.
Create your own illustrated storybook
According to the announcement, you can now use the aptly named Gemini Storybook to create illustrated storybooks with read-aloud narration. Like any generative AI platform, you enter a prompt (or description in this case), and Gemini will generate a 10-page storybook with custom art and audio.
Besides generating storybooks for children, Google confirmed other uses for the platform. Among the examples given is to create a personalised story using uploaded content. For instance, you can upload photos from a trip to generate a story about your holiday. You could also use the platform to create a presentation for a job interview by uploading your resume.
Limitations
Of course, the platform has some limitations. As mentioned, Gemini Storybook can only generate 10-page stories. When factoring in illustrated pages, that may mean only 5 pages have text to display information. If you want a more detailed storybook or other longform content, this isn't the platform you need.
