Digital maps have become an important tool for many of us today. Apps like Google Maps help make navigation easier, but it's only going to get better from now on. In fact, Google plans to introduce over 100 more features in 2021, including Live View.

According to Google, Live View aims to help users with indoor navigation. With the power of AI, Google Maps can identify the altitude and placement of objects inside buildings. Using that, Live View can help you navigate places like airports, transit stations, and malls. When using the feature, arrows will point towards the direction you need to move towards.

Besides that, there's now a new weather layer that lets you see current and forecasted weather for your current area. That can be useful, as you can avoid getting caught in bad weather like heavy rain, without an umbrella. Google is also building a new routing model that makes the app choose routes with a lower carbon footprint.

Based on the announcement, some of Google Maps planned features may not be that useful or relevant for us here in Malaysia. Of course, there will be some useful ones like Live View. Having said that, do you think in-door navigation is something you would need? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!
