Google Maps can now detect speed traps in more than 40 countries

You can avoid speed traps with Google Maps

ZDNet and Reddit have spotted a recent addition to Google Maps, which enables the application to detect speed limits as well as speed traps in more than 40 countries. The aforementioned features were initially available on another Google-owned application, Waze.

The new feature on Google Maps will now display the speed limit on the bottom left of the interface, as well as speed traps along the route you are driving on. Unfortunately, Malaysia was not included in the 40+ countries that will have the feature implemented. However, rest assured that the feature will eventually be available sooner, if not later.
