If you've been using an iPhone to back up your photos and videos on Google Drive, we got good news for you. Google just announced on their blog that Google One app is now free for iPhone and iPad users, as well as Android users. That's right, iOS users will have a free automatic phone backup soon (more on that later)!

Automatic phone backup has been one of the perks for Android users since last year, but it wasn't free back then until today. For iPhone and iPad users, Google is introducing a new iOS app version that will allow them to back up their data which includes photos, videos, contacts and calendar events with 15GB of storage for free. On top of that, there's also a new Manage Storage feature where you can free up space easily in your Google Drive, Gmail and Photos.

Now that Google One is free for both Android and iOS users, you can still choose to opt for a membership if you want the full experience and more storage starting from $1.99 (~RM8.44) per month. Besides having more storage, you can also share your plan with up to 5 family members and other premium support features. These new Google One version has already begun rolling out for Android, whereas the iOS app version has yet to appear.

Personally, this is pretty great for iOS users as we often have to rely on our iCloud or iTunes to back up our data and media files (which is kinda tedious, if I'm being honest). Anyway, we will keep an eye on when the Google One for iOS will be released, so stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
