Photographs are akin to memories, as they are often taken at places we visit or of people we know. These photos are usually stored online these days so that we can have it all in one place and reminisce from time to time. So, Google decided that redesign its Google Photos app, giving it a focus on helping users relive their memories.

According to the announcement, the redesigned version comes with three tabs: Photos, Search, and Library. The Photos tab has the larger Memories carousel, bigger thumbnails, and highlights from your last week. Then there's Search, which lets you easily find photos related to places you've visit or certain topics. Finally, there's the Library that keeps track of the different image folders you have stored on Google Photos.

Of course, there are a few limitations to note though. For Search, there's a map view feature but that only works for photos with data location. Library also has a Print store feature, but that's only available if you're living in the US, Canada or Europe.

Google will gradually roll-out the updated Google Photos to Android and iOS users, but it's not available in Malaysia yet as of the time of writing.
