Unlike many companies these days, Google tends to avoid revealing too much about what's going on with its Pixel devices. However, a recent leak seems to point to the fact that the Google Pixel 4a could come with 6GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB of fast UFS 2.1 storage.

A screenshot of the bootloader for a device claimed to be the Pixel 4a was shared to XDA Developers recently. It showed that the device would be using 6GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB of UFS storage from SK Hynix, a well-known flash memory chip maker from South Korea. It's believed that the UFS storage for the device will be version 2.1, which means faster read and write speeds, as well as better power efficiency.

Wait, there's more! The source is the YouTuber running the YouTube channel TechnoLike Plus, which has a video that actually showcases what seems to be a Pixel 4a phone. The device in question comes with a Snapdragon 730 chipset, 3080mAh battery, and runs on Android 10. There's also a large punch-hole camera and what seems to be an incomplete camera setup at the back.

Mind you, the device shown in the video is very likely a prototype or engineering sample of the Pixel 4a. In other words, it's not necessarily going to have the same specs in the final retail version. But considering that the launch is expected sometime this year, we don't think Google will make major changes due to time constraints.

Google's Pixel smartphones are pretty popular among enthusiasts even in Malaysia, so it's unfortunate that the company isn't willing to sell them here.
