Recently, we have had a lot of rumours about the Google Pixel 8. However, one rumour attracted everyone’s attention, its price. With that said, a reliable source might have revealed the phone’s recommended retail price.

Recently, an Indian source tipped that the new Pixel 8 could come with a higher price. Yogesh Brar tweeted that the standard model could come for $649 (~RM3031) or $699 (~RM3264). To compare, the standard unit for Pixel 7 was sold at $599 (~RM2797). That’s a price increase of $50 (~RM234)!

This leak, if confirmed, might be a cause for concern for Pixel fans but it should be expected. After all, Apple and Samsung did the same for their high-end phones too. In addition, Brar also tweeted about the specs, rumoured price and release date for the Pixel:

According to Brar, the Google Pixel 8 might include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. In theory, it should be better and faster compared to the optical scanner in the Pixel 7’s line. Back in October, there was a rumour about the Pixel 8 featuring this tech. Now, the rumour seems even more likely.

What are your thoughts about this leak? Do you think that this feature is worth the price increase? Stay tuned for more news about Google Pixel 8 at TechNave!
