Google Pixel Fold design officially unveiled on Star Wars Day

On May The 4th which is associated with Star Wars Day, Google actually unveiled its Pixel Fold officially before the Google I/O launch event on 10 May 2023. With a cheeky pun play on "May The Fold Be With You", the Pixel Fold is no longer just a rumour.

From the short teaser video, the Pixel Fold looks very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 but to be fair, that's how all foldable phones look like. On the rear camera, it has the standard rectangular Pixel camera bump design, showing three camera sensors with an LED flashlight. It's said that the exterior display is 5.8 inches.

As it unfolds, it shows the alleged 7.6-inch interior display. The bezels on the interior display look rather thick and we aren't sure if the phone was closed completely, for there could be a tiny gap in between. We aren't also sure if there would be a visible crease in the middle as well, but we guess we just have to wait and see.

The Pixel Fold should be running on Android 13 out of the box and you can already see some widgets hanging out on the home menu. We expect the phone to equip the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and there should be an Always-On mode on the outer screen. We will know the rest of the tech specs once Google I/O launches.
