Google’s first foldable smartphone, the Google Pixel Fold has long been in the rumour mills. Now, we may just receive confirmed details about the device and its launch date thanks to alleged internal documents from Google.

As shared by CNBC which viewed the tech giant’s internal communications, Google is planning to announce the Pixel Fold on 10 May 2023. This is during the annual Google I/O or annual developer conference on that day. However, the report claims that the foldable will only be launched in June 2023.

Besides that, the documents reveal that the Pixel Fold has the internal codename “Felix” and will feature the “most durable hinge on a foldable” smartphone. It also revealed the price point of the foldable, starting at USD1700 or ~RM7543.

The documents further suggest that Google will market the device as a water-resistant and pocket-sized foldable. There’s a 5.8-inch outer screen which opens to a 7.6-inch display when unfolded.

Under the hood, the Pixel Fold is touted to feature the same Tensor G2 SoC found on the Pixel 7 series. Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet.

Well, let’s wait until Google I/O this 10 May to find out for sure. Until then, make sure to stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news!
