Google Play Store will let you know about apps that drain your battery

From 1 March 2026 onwards, the Google Play Store will start displaying warning labels on apps that use a lot of battery power. So, what should you know about it?

You will see the label on the app screen

For your information, the label above will be clearly displayed on the app screen. Apps that are found to be active in the background for more than 2 hours a day within 24 hours will receive this label. Beta testing has been underway since the beginning of the year, and it will be activated in the future.

Moreover, this feature was developed by Google in collaboration with Samsung. Users of One UI 8 devices will receive notifications of apps that are too active in the background, affecting the battery.

Additionally, the only exemption is for media player apps like Spotify and YouTube because the feature is active in the background while the screen is locked for it to work.
