It has been over two years since Google Wallet was introduced in Malaysia. As an alternative to the Apple Wallet, Google Wallet has been steadily adding and supporting more local bank cards into the system. Today, there are two new additions to Google Wallet - Boost Bank and Alliance Bank.

The Boost Bank Debit Card was just launched in October 2024 which marks the first-ever digital bank to join Google Wallet. Like any card, users can use it for online shopping on both local and international purchases. It can also be used to withdraw cash from PayNet Shared ATMs, domestic use of MEPS ATMs, and any ATM displaying the Mastercard or Cirrus logo when you are overseas.

On the other hand, the Alliance Bank Visa Credit Card is finally eligible for Google Wallet as aforementioned. There are a lot of Visa Credit Card types by Alliance Bank so it's safe to assume that Google Wallet supports most of them. It took two years for Alliance Bank to finally join the club but to be fair, only a handful of banks joined Google Wallet when it first launched back then.

Besides the two new additions, Google Wallet now supports plenty of local bank cards. Even more so than Apple Wallet. You may refer to the official list above for your reference.
