Google recently announced their updated Veo 2 and upgraded Imagen 3, for AI video and image generation. The tools are now available on VideoFX and ImageFX, with wider rollouts planned. Google also introduced Whisk, a new experiment for creative genAI image remixes. Unfortunately, not all of them are available in Malaysia just yet
Generative Video with Veo 2
Google’s Veo 2 takes video generation to the next level with impressive realism, detail, and resolution and can understand prompts better. Users can create 4K videos spanning minutes, featuring advanced cinematographic controls such as wide-angle shot using an “18mm lens” or a close-up with “shallow depth of field”.

The model also addresses common AI challenges like “hallucinated” details, producing cleaner, more reliable outputs but there's still the usual disclaimer for extra fingers just in case. A SynthID watermark is embedded in all Veo 2 videos to ensure transparency and reduce misinformation risks. Veo 2 is now expanding access via Google Labs’ VideoFX, with plans to roll out to YouTube Shorts next year.
Improved Images with Imagen 3
Imagen 3’s latest upgrade enhances image generation with brighter, sharper visuals and richer textures. The model now captures a wider range of art styles—from photorealistic scenes to anime—while staying more faithful to user prompts. Starting today, Imagen 3 is available globally in ImageFX across more than 100 countries. Users can explore its creative capabilities on Google Labs.

Introducing Whisk: A New Way to Remix Images
Google’s new experiment, Whisk, allows users to prompt AI with images to visualize ideas. By combining Imagen 3 and Gemini’s visual capabilities, Whisk creates detailed, remixed outputs—from digital stickers to custom art.
