Google claims that Pixel 5 display gap is a normal part of its design

The Google Pixel 5 was released not long ago but there's already a problem. A few days ago, some Pixel 5 owners have reported seeing a small gap between the display and body of the phone. Of course, this problem was quickly reported to Google.

According to BGR, Google has looked into the problem but did not consider it a problem. A spokesperson has claimed that this "variation in the clearance between the body and the display is a normal part of the design of your Pixel 5", and that it will not impact the water and dust resistance for the phone. First time I've heard of something like this, to be honest.

The most troubling thing here is how Google dismissed users' concerns. In a separate video by PBKreviews, it was revealed that the adhesive isn't the only thing holding the screen to the frame. Some clips keep it in place, so it's not going to randomly pop off unless you pry it open. Regardless, having that gap there is still an eyesore.

With this being a problem, most people would just opt for the cheaper Pixel 4a 5G, which is an identical phone in many aspects. Having said that, would you get one of the newer Google Pixel devices if it's ever made available here? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
