Just yesterday, we saw the news regarding the Pixel 7 series bringing a new variant besides the standard Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Although we're still unsure about it as Google hasn't mentioned anything, there's one thing we can assure you about the upcoming series, which is it's packing the second-gen Tensor chip. Now, it's claimed that the next-gen Tensor will get manufactured by Samsung again.

It's no doubt that the chip will be based on a 4nm process. DDaily.co.kr adds that Samsung will also use panel level package (PLP) technology to manufacture the chip. It's a "packaging technique in which chips cut from a wafer are placed on a rectangular panel to possibly minimize the discarded edge, thereby reducing cost and improving productivity." Google has confirmed that the chip will "bring even more helpful, personalized features to photos, videos, security, and speech recognition" as well.

If nothing went wrong, the mass production for the 2nd-gen Google Tensor chip would kickstart in June, with the Pixel 7 series to become official in October. It's worth mentioning that Google does maintain a good relationship with Samsung. The company could even let the Korean tech giant produce Google server chips moving forward.
