When it comes to Chromebooks, it's usually never viewed as a notebook for gaming because of its association with education. Well, that could be changed in the future as there is evidence that Google is working on a Game Mode for ChromeOS.
As you can see from the screenshot below, Google seems to be testing a game called Borealis. It's a Steam gaming container and seems to trigger Game Mode to turn on whenever a full-screen window mode is detected. An error message can also be seen because the game mode hasn't been implemented yet.
For your information, Chromebook users can already use Stadia and GeForce. More powerful Chromebooks are expected to be released this year so if it arrives with Steam client access, that could be great for users to have some fun with Game Mode. Google has also been collaborating with Valve to import Steam in ChromeOS for over a year.
But what do you think? Should Chromebooks just focus on productivity and education? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
