Google is set to introduce the Pixel Buds 2a, its upcoming budget-friendly true wireless earbuds, at the Made by Google event on 20 August 2025.

Leaks suggest that the earbuds will retail from approximately RM399 in Malaysia, offering a refreshed design, new colours, and likely support for Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

What we could expect

The Pixel Buds 2a follow the original A-Series model, which launched in June 2021. This new version arrives four years later with a design that appears to be inspired by the higher-end Pixel Buds Pro 2.

Leaked renders show a range of colour options, including a new Iris colourway alongside Strawberry, Fog Light, and Hazel.

The earbuds are housed in a familiar oval-shaped charging case. Unlike previous versions, the inside of the case is now colour-matched to the earbuds. The outer case retains the clean and minimal design that has become standard across Google’s audio lineup.

One of the more notable changes is the appearance of redesigned microphone cut-outs, which resemble those on the Pixel Buds Pro 2.

This suggests that ANC may be supported this time around—a feature that was previously missing from the original A-Series. Other expected improvements include better battery life and enhanced sound quality, although specific tech specs are yet to be confirmed.
