Google experimenting emoticon mashup combo and 117 new emojis coming soon this year

In the world of emojis and stickers, it seems that Google will be releasing a new batch and it's an interesting one. According to sources, the company is experimenting mashing up two emojis together by using emotions on another emoji's shape. Besides that, it was also revealed that 117 new emojis will be ready this year including boba tea (yes, really).

For the emoji mashup, it seems that the button will work regularly on the GBoard panel from the emoji icon there. After tapping it, there will be a blank space above the GBoard search bar with "Tap an emoji to get suggestions". In other words, all you have to do is choose an emotion then the GBoard will come up with various other emoji shapes that fit that, but not all of them will work. It's currently on beta testing and if you like to test it out, you can find "Emoji browsing suggestions" in "Preference" from the GBoard app (if it appears).

As for the rest of the upcoming emojis, some folks managed to dig up all the new ones in one big picture from Emojipedia. There's a ninja, the signature Italian "wtf" hand gesture, new animals (seal, polar bear, mammoth, etc), boba tea, tombstone, a parent feeding a baby, gender-swap marriage wear, and many many new items.

What do you think of these new emojis? I'm quite looking forward to the mashup one and teens will probably spam the boba tea emoji. Anyway, stay tuned for more tech news at TechNave.com.
