There was a rumour that Google would allow parents or guardians to share their Google Wallet payment cards with their children via Family Link. Yesterday, the feature was activated and rolled out to a select number of users. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, only parents/guardians in the US, UK, Spain, Australia and Poland can use it at the moment. In addition to the shareable payment cards, Google is also allowing access to tickets or any digital passes that support Google Wallet. Children will be able to use Google Wallet just like their parents do, only every transaction can be monitored and parents will receive notifications either on Family Link or via email.
Moreover, this feature will be enabled in select countries first before being rolled out more widely. This may be the best alternative to digital wallets or prepaid debit cards for children, which may have hidden charges or confusing subscriptions.
