Google has now announced an Extended Repair Program for the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL after confirming that a limited number of units may be experiencing screen-related issues. So, what should you know about it?

Free replacements for eligible devices for up to 3 years

According to Google, if the Pixel 9 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro XL screen displays a vertical line from the bottom to the top, or flickers, you may be eligible for a free repair under this program. This program offers free display replacement for eligible devices for up to three years from the original purchase date.

Moreover, this offer is only applicable after a service centre has inspected and confirmed the issue on the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL. However, it's important to note that not all Pixel 9 Pro or Pro XL are eligible. Google explains that phones with cracked displays or cover glass, as well as signs of liquid ingress, may affect the device's eligibility. If your device is ineligible, you may be charged a fee for repairs.

Additionally, repairs are available from December 8, 2025, and partner service centre reviews can be done via this link. Any repairs under this extended repair program are warranted for 90 days, subject to local consumer laws.
