As smartphone brands are incorporating more AI functions into their devices, Google is also making Gemini more convenient and efficient. From the giant tech's announcement today, Gemini has been extended to an Android phone's lockscreen.

With this initiative, that means Android users can now use Gemini without having to unlock their phones. According to Google, previous users of Assistant on Lockscreen or Gemini on Lockscreen should have the Extensions on Lockscreen working by default. But if it is not, users can open up Gemini, go to the settings page by tapping the avatar then look for "Gemini on lock screen" to turn it on.

After you enable Gemini on Lockscreen, you can use "Hey Google" to activate it. If you are a Pixel user, you can just long-press the power button to use Gemini. Of course, since it is Gemini, you can also start by typing out requests to the AI and ask for tips or questions to get started.

That being said, some of the tasks that you request will still require you to unlock your device. For example, asking Gemini to create an event and marking the date on your calendar or any actions that contain your personal content.

This new update should be rolling out now as we speak, so make sure to update your operating system to enable Gemini on Lockscreen. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
