Google is developing a new feature called " Battery Health Assistance", which is expected to launch with Android 16. So, what should you know about it?
Your phone's charging speed might slow down
For your information, batteries have a maximum voltage they can be charged. Charging to full voltage provides the highest capacity, so this new battery health assistant feature will reduce that voltage, gradually, as it reaches 200 charge cycles.
So, the battery will not be charged to its full potential level, where it will adjust the phone's charging speed based on capacity, meaning your Android device may not charge as fast as before.
The purpose is to maintain the health of the phone's battery and ensure that the phone's performance remains stable.
What can be concluded is that the Battery Health Assistance feature is a more proactive version of the device's existing battery health monitoring system.
Google has already confirmed the launch of Android 16 tomorrow, with Pixel smartphones expected to receive it first.
